Words wound around my soul
tried to make me whole,
strings of me unwoven,
although I was never broken.

Aspirations and dreams
breathed into unheard screams,
always left my hurts unspoken,
although I was never broken.

Others said I needed to be fixed
I, myself, was once convinced;
took realizations years to be woken,
though I was never broken.
