Fight for a New SideA Poem by beautifulblade1.17.15Sticky fingered ghosts trapped near my heart, just wantin' a new start; makin' art across the love 'n hate filled war being fought within myself, cause every forceful fingered feeling makes it hard to know I'm dealing, and all I can cry out are pleas for one to help me. I'm cryin' and pleadin' and beggin' you please, don't turn a blind eye to to this corrupted society where we yell out intention to save the trees then pay no heed to this disease ridden culture, vultures awaiting their next meal, their next deal, the next real decision that will bless new superstitions in a country divided against itself. Where it's the war on terror vs. the war on drugs, no one bothers to try and fight for a different side of things, a side where peace flies high and division is buried low, separation of first class and coach class six feet under ground. Because right now, this is a place where the seven o' clock sunshine inside your soul is darkened by storm clouds of doubt and insecurity, where fireworks rain down and light the up the world with dangling limbs and holy hymns, preachers calling out 'amens' to our silent prayers and broken 'hallelujahs.' Fight the ghosts inside that keep you trapped within yourself, new levels of doubt that make it hard to trust yourself. Just breathe. breathe... Just breathe. © 2015 beautifulbladeAuthor's Note
