Water

Water

A Poem by Cat Tee
"

A haiku compilation in the words of water.

"

Step on me, Jesus,

help me help you become Him

I’ll be nothing more.

I’ll be nothing more

than the transparent support

hov’ring under Him.

Seduced into wine

He can always step on me

I am here for Him.

More than followers

Killing, brainwashing for Him

That’s not what He wants.

That’s not what you want.

You’ve just wanted someone there

placed under your feet.

Step on me, Jesus,

even if you don’t need me

I’ll always need you.

I was going for a feel of water being in love with Jesus, you know, the usual inanimate crushing on human situation... But does this come across? Some I've shared this with get a very pro-Christianity vibe, and not that I don't mind that, I do want to have one clear theme from this so another question: what theme do you take from this piece? Thanks!

The donkey, the water, the cross: they all bear Jesus and have the same voice.

Sometimes I wonder what the rock thought, just being shoved aside all the time like it wasn't important.

Reading this piece, I definitely got a pro-Christian vibe. Loving that "seduced into wine" line.
I did find it interesting that you chose "Step on me" instead of the more common "Use me" that Christians use. In the first stanza, I assumed it was an allusion to Jesus walking on water. But the repetition of it as you drew attention to Jesus turning water to wine, as well as it other stanzas was intriguing.

I enjoyed reading this, particularly because it was different from alot of poems I've read that involves Jesus =]
