Graveyards Or Highways?

Graveyards Or Highways?

A Poem by .::Cup^E^Cake*RaWr!*::.
"

This one is for my friend Siri,I like to call him my long lost twin.

"

Graveyards or Highways?

Why not both?

Coffee or Tea?

Lets pick up a cup of Joe!

In this life are the colors of the rainbow.

Sometimes things aren't what they seem,

Orange is bright

yet dark underneath.

Lets dress in many colors,

Go down the highway.

We can stop for some coffee.

Lets keep going till it's dark

& on the way back we can even stop at a graveyard.

Sit under the stars,

talk of all that's on our minds.

I'll give you a black rose,

even though your so bright

I know you like that kind of thing.

If you want we can also stop

at the your favorite spot by the river,

you can show me those fairies

you talke about so often.

When the sun rises

we can go save the world!

Graveyards or Highways?

I'll take both.

I like it. I did find a spelling error, but I think that with this poem [as with most] it's the feeling that counts. And I adore the feeling you describe here!

This is interesting - I like the contrast between graveyards, which are usually silent and serene, compared to highways, which are busy. However, a lot of it seemed rather random & didn't seem to have much place in the poem. For example, the lines, "Go down the highway. / We can stop for some coffee. / Lets keep going till it's dark / & on the way back we can even stop at a graveyard." Idk why, but these lines threw me off. =/ I won't be too harsh, but I've read quite a few of your poems & know that you can make this work with a little revision.^^

Often in life we come across these places that bring comfort in our hearts without explanation. Be it a graveyard or highway , or in my case a pile or rocks tucked away in the forest. your poem expresses the freedom of youth and the endless search for more such places. On another note, I notice that you tend to cring at the thought of others opinion of your work when you need not. I find your poetry to be refeshing and new. Never predictable but always rewarding. Allow yourself to let go of that fear and watch your work bloom!! I have confidence in your abilty. Many Kudos my friend.

There are fine lines between pleasure and pain, love and hate so often two different roads may lead to the same place, one may just take longer... excellent write.

I won't be harsh, but it could be better. Just with some small revision and maybe some better words mixed in. The idea of the poem is cute though!
