Thoughts from Carson Beach

A Poem by Belle O'Tricks the Strange

I come here when I miss you.
I come here to miss you.

You’re with me when I’m here.
I'm aware we are apart when I’m here.

Here, I feel you close beside me.
Here, you’ve never been further away.

Mornings rise, waves fall,
Seasons change, as do we all.
But now the tide is low
And so I too must go...

In our own way we are still here,
And have never left.

Ahhh-so!
A Parallelismus Membrorum.

Parallelismus Membrorum is of traditional Hebrew origin.
It has at least two (or any number of) short lines of parallel construction,
that present a thesis and a complementary antithesis as an extension, thereof.
For excellent examples of Parallelismus Membrorum, see the book of "Proverbs."
Parallelism means to give two or more parts of the sentences a similar form,
so as to give the whole a definite opposing or contrary pattern.
There are no rhyme, meter, or count requirements,
but may rhyme and have an even meter.
Alignment is the author’s choice.

PERPLEXED REFLECTIONS

Do not let me enter;
never shut me out.

I am the bygone past;
that was never there.

I'm the coming hurricane,
yet, but a has been breeze.

I am in the present;
I do not even exist.

I am but a memory
you have forgotten.

And, I am the future
that shall never be.

Belle,
You have a very interesting About Me that lured my attention to your poetry, where I came across this excellently rendered piece on the complexity of opposite emotions, feelings, and remembrances that often occur when a lover's broken heart and unsure mind confers.
Love the title, too … it adds a deeper personal touch.

I apologize for the length of this, but you've (obviously) inspired me. : )
Thank you so much for these moments of sheer enjoyment! ⁓ Richard 🍃
