Death

Death

A Poem by J.P.
"

A person I know died yesterday. I really didn't want to write. The act seems so inconsequential, what I have to say. But, I did it anyway. That's the point.

"

Hockey died.

Not the game, the girl.

I gave her that nickname.

The (wh) questions fly.

I know I hate editing. It is a lie.

The first thing written or spoken is the truth.

The real you or me.

We do not need a revision or a façade.

Go forward with who you are.

Make mistakes in poetry and life.

Write trash, plenty of it. I have.

A diamond will come along.

A killer line, a sunny day, children’s play, go forward, take each day.

The way that you described the importance of being true to oneself was so inspiring and uplifting, and it added a sense of hope and optimism to the poem. Your message of embracing imperfection and making mistakes was also powerful, and it reminded me of the importance of taking risks and learning from our failures.
Overall, I thought that your poem was a beautiful and inspiring reflection on the value of authenticity and resilience.
