SIN SATION

SIN SATION

A Poem by Dessi
"

. . . . . . .

"
Cherub-like face
enters my blank thoughts
This recurring dream of day
and night
Is this my plight?
This voiceless vision
fades into my existence
Just to wave his flag
His celibacy
I hate
.
Speak to me
Tell me I am beautiful
Tell me I am worth the guilt
The conscience you'll feel
After we delight in the bounty
The buffet
It is for the hungry
The thirsty
It satisfies
And is worth the wait

You really grabbed me when you rhymed existence with vision and capped it off with that lovely assonance of existence/ celebacy. One note: if you ever decide to send a poem in to someone for publication, editors generally frown on centered poems.

All things come to those who wait, but it comes with the responsibility of being careful not to compromise what one wants most for what one wants now. Enjoyed your poem. Thank you, Mary
