Poppies (Morphine)

Poppies (Morphine)

A Poem by Billy Van

1

(Doves)

Beneath the golden sky

The poppies cry

And brings splendor

To the doves up high.

They swarm through clouds,

O! do they fly;

But only when the poppies cry.

2

(Sheep)

Amongst the sheep

The poppies weep

And relaxes them

So they can sleep.

They graze the pasture,

Flat and steep;

But only when the poppies weep.

Wow. I really, really love this. It's very simple and yet so beautiful. Your use of personification is wonderful and I am particularly fond of the second verse. Well done.

Thank you very much, Rea. I find that sometimes simple is better. ;)
