Where's Your Brain?

Where's Your Brain?

A Poem by Brenda Sue

There's a slimy alien

at my door

One look

I hit the floor

It is orange red

from head to toe

with beady white eyes

aglow

Everything went dead still

with the sound of it's voice

I spinned around,

I had no choice.

This slimy orange red alien was

none other than my own child

Dripping on the floor

Looking crazy and wild

My own son covered

in Red Clay mud

Uncle Spud, where's your brain?

My children love to go 4-wheeling in the mud. The picture is of my two boys after they had been cleaned up a bit.

I love it! I bet they had so much fun too.The picture was great. That was after they cleaned up a bit? Wow, they must have been really unrecognizable. Thank you for sharing the writing and the picture.
That is something that you can show their girlfriends later. lol

This is a great little poem...one suggestion instead of "all aglow," "aglow" would work better with the meter structure that you're using. :)

Good work! Short and to the point! I only have one suggestion: take out the word "nearly" in the first stanza because then it would convey a funnier image of you actually 'hitting the deck' when the alien walks through the door.
