The Silence is Broken

The Silence is Broken

A Poem by Brenda Sue
"

Another transatlantic collaboration by Phil Sanders and myself.

"

Last night I had a dream, that showed how we were a team.
How all through the years, our love gently appears.
Then the dream changed and everything was rearranged.
I awakened with a start, realizing how lonely life would be apart.
Our baby's paddling little feet made my wakening so sweet.

I sat quietly at home and knew I couldn't be alone
My life entwined with yours, such an unbreakable force
Your lips I need to kiss, I know how them I miss
To feel your tender touch, I need that oh so much
Remembering the past, we must make it last

I made his favorite meal, to show him our love was real.
He told me he was sorry he was late and I had to wait,
I took his hand in mine and we stepped back in time.
Back when our love was new, we knew actually what to do.
He asked me for a date, believing it is not too late,
Within this crazy life, we need to take time for husband and wife

A bunch of flowers I bought, with you my only thought,
She whispered in my ear, sweet words for only me to hear.
How did we drift apart? We must make that new start,
I know the depth of love, with power from above.
So listen to me please, my plea will you take heed.
As one we must remain, or I will go insane.

With this fast pace of life, we must be man and wife

You are so right...the pace of life is fast and people do drift apart so easily and then it is too late. I like the touch of the flowers. Such little gestures do count. But the first moments of love I do not think can ever be recaptured. There seems to be a certain point of life when a sadness clouds things forever more as people fade, lose vigour or get ill, jaded or bitter. I think friendship and trust replaces love, with luck, if anything does. And the next moment is the only one of any significance. The last line seems the most significant... both parts of it!

Intresting peice . What's an ocean when love strikes. I liked the way that through all your day you had each other in mind. then at the end of the day you make time for each other sad to say that doesn't happen much in days society. maybe that is where family breakdown starts. A very well structured peice and a very honest peice too. enjoyed reading this very much
Respect to you both

That is a nice followup to your other piece. So often time is not on the side of any couple. Really fine work.

Being grateful for what you knew was ideally right when flames first ignited between you two is so beautiful. I am moved by this piece, as it shows the strength of love when one hand reaches out to another. This is a lovely write.

This is lovely.....Loved reading this.
Dont know why things just fall apart....How desperately we try too hold them together but nothing really help at times....

Nevertheless a lovely write.

I agree with Orlando's review. I think you have to move to take chances in life when they are there. True love does not appear very often and if you have found it, keep the flame alive. The concluding part is, of course, so sweet.
Nicely written collaboration.

Tis a fragile thing, love and needs to be nurtured, cherished, protected. Doesnt do to get complacent. I'm glad there is a happier end to the agony of silence. I do love a happy ending :) Nice write.

You two are something else...true hand-in-hand poetry...even across the big pond.

I've enjoyed these very much...there has to be a future with this work. Absolutely stellar.

Thanks for the send...and keep them coming right along...in fact let me know when they are there...

Sincerely,

Daniel

A great read - and so true! We get so caught up in our daily lives that we forget that the relationship between husband and wife must be kept alive! Another great collaberation you guys! My favorite line: Back when our love was new, we knew actually what to do. How easy, between jobs, laundry, kids, etc, to forget. KUDOS!!!

If only more people could rediscover love and find happiness and contentment again.
