Cherry Blossoms

Cherry Blossoms

A Poem by Abhijeet Kumar

Like a robin, beyond the horizon you flew,

Leaving me lonesome in a state of blue.

Now how would I find you, where would I go,

Sans you the glory of my heart is getting low.

Your loving memories will always make me weep;

Have you forgot the promise I had told you to keep.

The promise to glance as one beyond the stars;

To make a new land free from all cruelty and wars.

You are my true love, not a dull game.

Don't you know you were my only flame;

Who had showed me the way towards the fairy land.

Darling, I just want to hold again your hand.

I can't forget those moments spent under the silvery moon.

Darling, I am waiting for you, please come back soon.

I believe we will watch the cheery blossoms fall again;

We will again run up to the hill, to our secret domain.

I like the poem a lot. I think the words you used to describe the lover are very good. I also think the rhyming might have changed what could have been a great story plot. Instead of the rhymes leading the way of the story, the story should lead the way, and the rhyming should seem almost accidental. Great write besides that.

Captured perfectly with great choice of words, painting a picture of hope, that those cherry blossoms will fall again for you both one day.

Thank you.
Beautiful use of imagery here to portray quite a sad story of love and loss. Very well done, really enjoyed the read.
