an entry for the contest as love dies

If I have to remember,

how the relationship started,

it should come from good memory

as I try to remember.

 

We were introduced

by a common friend,

whom I did not know

was your former girlfriend.

 

My best buddy,

told me that he knew you,

that in his vocabulary,

you are not an okay guy.

 

We had a fight after that,

I thought my best buddy

was just jealous of you,

so I ignored him for days.

 

Eventually,

we fixed things up,

which hurt your ego,

why my best buddy is a man.

 

To prove my love

and loyalty to you,

no matter how hurting it was,

I distant myself from my best buddy.

 

Focused my time,

my attention and my trust in you.

I thought everything would be perfect.

 

Yes, it was perfect at the start,

I was in cloud nine most of the time,

because you were a great lover

and an adoring boyfriend.

 

But I never learned my lessons,

in love and relationships,

I should never love you that much

because here I am, BROKEN.

 

I don’t know,

when will the time comes

that I can learn to love again.

Fear is my ally now.

Yes it is a sad thing to distance ourselves from a friend for a person we love only to find out that our friend was right... It is a hard thing to take after the trust is broken... Nicely written poem..

you would be surprised that best buddy (ron) still reminds me about that until now and I always tell him, why do you have a sharp memory? you remember lots of things that I am trying to block then he will just laugh at me and tell me when will i ever learn? hahaha.. thanks earl for the wonderful review

except Girl I met and fell in love with were not introduced
Met on the bus or such
fell apart broken hearted, kicked out; or just left, no reason or good bye

Met trough a friend , they were friends,
We hit it off straight away
Have our fall outs > still together
