Mermaid

Mermaid

A Poem by Captain Goldpants

I met a fair maid on the beach of a foreign shore

but a lady she was, I was not sure
for where legs, counting two, should have been
silver scales and a tail and a sparkling sheen

We swam in the sea near the foreign shore
and saw the pelicans, counting four
we saw the seallions, counting three
winking at the mermaid, and barking at me

I love the happy and boucy (haha funny word) ryhming you got going on in this poem. This is a fun poem ... sounds like the sealions are a little jealous of you...

Loved it!
