Mental Cases

Mental Cases

A Poem by Captain Goldpants
"

Having lunch in a dodgy café in Camden, London

"

Having lunch in Camden

with all the mental cases
eating plaices
or is it scampi?

I'll never know
'cos if I ask,
The mental cases talk loudly
at me
and spit in my tea

and everyone
looks at me
and will wonder what I am eating

Short, sweet and to the point...very clever, mental cases eating Plaices HA!!! That is fish isn't it? With people spitting in your tea I'm wondering why you stayed? I would have been out of there like a streak of duck do...
A whimsical little piece very diverse from what I read previously...thank God!
Cheers Nathan,
Helen :-)

Mental cases are everywhere, my friend. When you think you've finally dodged one, there he goes, hopping along to an invisible tune repeating in his mind. Nice write.

Awesome piece of writing, great title too! :) Something about your writing (probably the fact it makes me laugh out loud) is simply fantastic!

I have a Mornington Crescent one too, Miss Mannington! But I think I left it written on a f*g packet in a shoe box in London! :-(

Honey, you write like you are talking out loud with no premeditation, I am sure this is what you do and I like the it very much, free flow poetry is great. Mx

Camden Town

Inside my head a movie plays, the image is so clear.
Inside my heart your words reside, battling with my fear.
Outside my shell is very strong, but inwardly I weep,
Clasping tight to memories that burn so very deep.
I feel your body all day long, its warmth against my skin,
My senses hold your perfume mixed with cigarettes and gin.
These are the things I hold with me in everything I do,
To the man in Camden Town, I always will love you.
