Bandaging Overexertion.

Bandaging Overexertion.

A Poem by Megan
"

kind of a mesh between a poem and a story, just getting some feelings out here...

"
She pushes herself--
past her limit and breaking point.
tiredness turns to laziness
and she makes mistakes.
Running up and down the court,
her teammates look just fine.
But deep inside, she's overexerted.
Her legs are sore.
She can barely breathe.
Her heart is racing.
Physically, she's breaking down.
No.
She tells herself quietly.
The team needs you.
And you can't possibly let them down.
And she tries not to,
but the exertion of her body overpowers her mind, her heart,
and her Spirit.
She falls short.
She can feel the part inside
telling her not to give up,
to continue on.
But her body is in so much pain.
She still plays, but inside she's given up.
Again.
She hears the shouts of her coaches from the sidelines.
Critiques, "tips" to make her stronger.
She knows they are trying to help,
but her selective listening cancels out
the good comments that she longs to hear.
She becomes frustrated.
Over and over.
And when the game's done with,
the coaches seem to be done with her.

She can't always be the positive encourager,
she ponders as she walks into her house.
But she opens up a book, talks with Someone who can
help her overcome her stumbling block.
Someone who helps her realize,
these trials will just make her stronger.

She resolves to do better next game,
to keep her head up and encourage her teammates,
to show that she can push through.
To listen to the coaches' criticism with
an open mind and heart.
She knows she can overcome this,
because she has Help.

This kind of explains you really well....how even when you've got nothing left, you still push through with outstanding perseverance. :) Great job.
