Searching Myself

Searching Myself

A Poem by Megan
"

a poem about a girl who finally is getting the attraction she's so long desired. But she finally realizes she needs to search herself before she can let someone else search her.

"
Ages ago
years long past
the pain is still fresh
the pain is still
aching.

The memories still claw at my heart
the words still ring true in my mind
as loud as they were
all those years past.

And now,
when experience has grown me
bloomed a beautiful woman
you see me through the crowd
you see the invisible girl
no one saw all those years ago.

Her cheeks rosy
her laughter contagious
her words spoken so intelligently
and so intricately
you are drawn to her.
you are drawn to
me.

If only I could say
I am drawn to you.

For a moment
I thought I could be
then the memories and the pain reminded me
that i still need to search me
discover
me
heal
me
before i can search someone else,
before they can search
me.

An amazing piece from you, and it is very deep with insight and the ending. I love the concept of this poem.
Great job!

When I read this I thought of my cousin. All of the sudden men are going after her and she used to cry because she thought no one wanted her. You did a good job on this.
