Quadratic Reality

Quadratic Reality

A Poem by blueampersand

I live in a world where
everything is comprised of squares
It's very cold here
especially at the window
because a square sun is not very
efficient in the heat department
(it works overtime just for this
square planet
that doesn't seem to receive its warmth at any
convenient time)
So fill me and my pixel mates
up with mirror shotguns and cheat codes
We're all a sugar unity
(that's my password, by the way)
Little pixel squares
And this is reality
really.

And in this world you can shoot everything
In this world reputation means nothing
We enter just by pressing a button
on a box marked with X
It must be poisonous but really
it's a nice escape
and this way nobody's hurt
except, of course, our
haphazard mentality.

This is really interesting. The use of the word 'quadratic' as a reference to square shapes seems to me to take a distance second place to second-degree equations and such.

A nice piece!
