Gravity

Gravity

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

You’re going to push me away

Speaking the words that you say

The air has shifted and changed

My body has lifted and I feel strange

I guess we all need a little bit of gravity

The way you lie you have me comatose

Can I get some love to hold?

Bring some memories for me to feel

Letting me know that I am real

But your layers begin to peel

And the real you is shown

You think that I am scared

When you push me down?

But you can’t put me out

Because since you came back

My world has never been blacker

I will never give up and hand you the crown

So you need to beware of me this time around

You rip my world apart

But there’s still a piece of you left in my heart

That you have left bleeding

I begin to feel the gravity

As my feet touch the ground

As I start to come around

I realize how much you left my world dark

I won’t give you another chance

It’s time that I finally take I stand

Show how big of man that I am

Your true colors are shown

With the love you never gave me to hold

I guess I can finally let you go

And forget all you that I know

I like it. It gets the message through. But It's very sad :(
