White Lies

White Lies

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

I struggle with your white lies

Condemned in these black nights

Your words go straight through me like fire

I’m trapped on this nightmare ride

My soul escapes and I watch myself die

Another soulless life that is burned

As my misery turns

It all begins to hurt

I’m stuck in this world

You try to hear my words

But you can’t remember

 What you haven’t heard

My ears bleed as you scream at me

With no control you are so cold

With your evil mind

You fill me full of white lies

I have to fight to make it through

Because you only want to use me

Again and again I hear the same thing

I didn't mean to do it

It was just a little mistake

Feeding me your white lies

Does it make you feel better inside?
