You Are

You Are

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

Is it nice to know you have it all?

Sit back and watch the rest of us suffer as we crawl

You’re so greedy

That you think I’m an insult

Everyone knows that this is your fault

You are so cold

You don’t deserve any hope

You are so broke

You only deserve to be alone

You have no soul

You don’t deserve this home

Why don’t you just go?

You live with no emotions

Your soul is trapped in prison

Your life is drowning in an ocean

Spreading your disease like lotion

Seeping through your skin

You’re starting to realize

 That this is the end

Taking a pill anytime you get hurt

The world could burn

You won’t know because you’re comatose

Walking this earth as an empty shell

Locked in your own hell

As you take another dose

It was the best one yet

Never like you have ever felt

Are you happy with your early death?

my heart hurt after reading this, only because this poem reminded me of bit of my parents divorce.
It brought so many emotions to me, which is a great accomplishment through writing!
Great job.
