Circus Of DeathA Poem by Brandon MathisI see heaven in your eyes Every time this world starts the fire The other side is disguised Every word is prophesized As the clock ends the time Will you choose this life? This sinner that you don’t want You ask me who I am I give you what you have made me to become Does it hurt? That you created me And burned me in my thoughts My soul you have lost The anger drives me closer I burn my last memories in October One life is over As another life gets colder These thoughts whisper on my shoulder I listen as this voice has me hypnotized I’m running out of time A stranger in my eyes As the words carry in the wind Inches me closer to the edge Welcome to my life The circus of death Trying to find a reason to breathe Trying to find truth in my reason This circle of life Is all but a circus of death? Lying in hells depth I’m feeling my burning memories I’m crying to these words that I except I’m going on but I don’t know how I don’t have any emotions now This is how I view myself This is my circus of death These memories filled with regrets To angels wings To nothing left This man sadly sings To a heartbeat that stings The circus of death That you can’t see Making it hard to breath As these memories scream 320 words to describe his pain This man in the mirror that I don’t know His eyes write a poem of shame His voice aches with this blame His arms hold to nothing left But this circus of death Holding a flame to his burning heart He’s nothing but scar tissue Seeking refuge in his truth Opening a door to his abuse Looking through a window to view His new room to his circus of death © 2012 Brandon Mathis |
