Under Your Head and Over Yourself

Under Your Head and Over Yourself

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

These words are hurting

My emotions are turning

My soul is searching

For reasons unknown

This world still leaves me alone

For everything that I hope

To nothing in this broken home

I still walk alone

I break on my own

I’m frozen

Waiting for you to let me go

Hope is the word that won’t let me in

Hate is the word that breaks me with-in

Cold to this world

Pain fuels the hurt

While these words burn

My thoughts go up in smoke

It hurts every time I look in your eyes

Call me the flames to this fire

As the sky burns

Blame me for all the pain that hurts

To the words that you hide behind

Someday the truth will uncover your lies

Get over yourself

Always remember and never forget

You are the one who set this fire in hell

To this world you call drama

I put a period at the end of my sentence

You leave it with a comma

I guess you can’t finish

Your drama never ends
