The Beauty of Green

The Beauty of Green

A Poem by Josh Friedman
"

I'm going to let the writing speak for itself

"

Shades of red are a terrible analogy for love,

red is rage. Red is passion. Red is not love.

Love is in shades of green.

Green is rebirth, revitalization, realization.

Green is a warm spring day, it is all the shades in the grass and trees.

A beautiful seventy-five degree day, with the sun shining brings out all of the beauty in the world.

There’s very little I love more than a beautiful spring day.

Except for you;

you are seafoam.

You are lime.

You are shamrock.

You are pine.

You are midnight.

You are Slytherin’s emerald.

You are every single beautiful shade.

I can’t look out into my own f*****g yard without thinking of you.

Pure beauty, natural beauty occurs in shades of green more often than in any other color.

There is a love that can only be described with green.

It’s natural,

meaningful,

real,

whole-hearted,

unwavering,

warm,

familiar,

romantic,

lively,

and above all else,

true.

The kind of love I feel for you is an endless succession of shades of green.

This is a good poem. I like how you used the meaning of a color to write a poem. And I loved the Harry Potter reference.
