Another Sleepless Night (Thinking Too Much)

Another Sleepless Night (Thinking Too Much)

A Poem by Brandii Watts
"

This is about those negative thoughts we sometimes battle with at night.

"
Can't you just stop?
I have to sleep.
I'm tired, aren't you?
Every night it's like this.
I'm tossing and turning
Because you won't stop worrying.
Why can't you stop being so negative?
Just try to relax.
Easier said than done, I know.
But I can't keep doing this.
I can't keep listening to you.
I fall asleep sad and wake up scared--
Waiting for more bad things to happen.
Don't you want to be happy?
Don't you want the glass half full?
Let me decide for you.
Let me take control for once.
I need to. Please.
I'll close my eyes,
And you can stop talking.
And I'll stop listening.
Do you hear me?
Listen to me!
That isn't going to happen!
Wait--
Is that really the time?
I have to be up in an hour.
