Having Him

Having Him

A Poem by Julia

She skips and twirls, around and around.

Nothing compares to the music that sounds.

The one sung in her heart, ringing in her ears.

What took so long? Why so long the years?

She wants to sing, and scream, dance and shout.

Making people see what the commotion is about.

Holding him close, never letting him go.

No longer would she have to put on a show.

She was happy now. No, ecstatic.

Being with him was just like magic.

Weak in the knees, heart beating fast.

A feeling she wanted forever to last.

“I’m not letting go, I promise you now.”

That would never be something she would allow.

His lips, his touch, his existence a gift.

Always giving her frown a lift.

Glowing bright, seeing his face.

She never wants to let go from his embrace.

“I love you.” he informed.

Her ice cold heart had just been warmed.

 “I love you, too.

That’s really all I know how to do.”

I'm a new member to this site so I'm not sure how it works. Consequently, I can't immediately find the date that this poem was written ...but you created your profile at just 14? If you wrote this poem around that age...certainly before the age of let's say....16? Then you ARE a hopeless romantic! It captures many feelings that we (us 'crusty old ones') can recognise. You are quite a way ahead of your years with this piece of work. Well accomplished Julia. Question: Why was her heart 'ice cold'....did she not want to be loved or it was simply the 1st time?

:) Loved the beginning. The first twelve lines sum up the most amazing feeling imaginable. Thanks so much for managing to capture the perfect moment.

This is amazing! So is "Losing Him". I love the way they go together. Both poems flow really well and they're so relateable. In these poems you really captured what love feels like and how it can turn around and rip you apart. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work. I will definitely be reading more of your poems :]
