Best Friends

Best Friends

A Poem by Julia

 You wipe my tears.

Destroy my fears.
You may be there, I may be here.
But let me make this very clear.

You’re my best friend.
I’m here til the end.
For you my rules will always bend.
And your broken hearts, I’ll try to mend.

Don’t ever feel like you’re alone.
For with me, I’m like a clone.
Second chances may be blown.
But there’s always more, here at home.

I’m right here, without a doubt.
Talk with me. Don’t care what about.
Smiling now, once a pout.
You never cower when I shout.

And when I’m not within your sight.
Look in your heart, eliminate that fright.
For I am here, I’ll guide you to the light.
The one you make shine so bright.

My savior, my angel, my gift from God.
Throw your burdens on me, even if it’s a lot.
It’s for you, I took time to sought.
For you, I won’t quit, just to say I fought.

With you, I’ll never turn cold.
To me, you’ll never get old.
Your strength makes me bold.
Shaping me into this brilliant mold.

I’ll always have your back.
Trust is something you’ll never lack.
I’ll lead you away from the cold pitch black.
Count on me to pick up the slack.

I love you, you know?
And this isn’t a show.
Your presence is enough to make me glow.
And just to keep this friendship, make time move slow.

And even after all the time we spend.
I’ll still have more to lend.
We’ll remain best friends.
Always to the end.

There's always room for another poem about platonic love. I admire your use of a rhyme scheme, even if it isn't perfect.
