I am

I am

A Poem by breakthebrokenone

I am thunder.
You hear me growl and you are scared.
My noise is worse than the storm itself.
I use it to my advantage.
I know you are afraid.

I am the monster under your bed.
I have been there since you were a child.
Not to scare you.
Just to protect you.

I am the ocean.
I am deep and the thought of drowning in me keeps you at bay.
You find peace in my ripples.
But you are worried to go deeper.

You fear me, yet you love me.
You find solace in my mystery.
I allure you, like a woman of the night.
I intrigue you, and you wonder.
But you are too afraid to approach.

I would never harm you.
I too am scared.
But I long for the feeling of love.

I am a memory.
You wish I could come back.
You wish you had held on.
But now I am gone.
