Awake For Too Long

Awake For Too Long

A Poem by breakthebrokenone

I'm sorry if I don't remember who you are.
You see, I have just woken from a much needed rest.
And now that I have risen
it is evident
All is not the same as it was before I fell.

I have been awake for far too long.
Gotten use to how the world works
Even taken such things for granted.

Like the beauty of your eyes
in the early september morning.

When your brown eyes shimmer gold
and my blue eyes are the sky
that your golden sun gets set in.
