Im Gone

Im Gone

A Poem by Your Tasty Field Advisor

Every night I sit here in this same chair, all darkened with black die

I sit here listening to the same music, all full of thoughts

here I sit and listen to every whim and rhyme that comes to mind

here I sit and listen to the on going orchestra within my mind

here I sit and listen to each and every voice within my brain

those of you might call me insane or crazy with all these visions

and, let me say, at times I would believe that

but, I know what I am and I am neither one of those unreasonable stereotypes

why they’re there, I may never know, but within I know who I am will pay off

even as each wave comes within my mind I know not what it will bring...

The cloud slowly crawls across the everlasting moon

as each star within the sky eats the blackness

of which has brung the monsters within our mind

could you ever imagine what you could bring into the world and into your mind

have you ever wanted to know that wind that blows across the moon?

Each star smiles a thousand lights upon the child’s tear-stained eyes

shining upon him with soothing, healing, touching powers

why has this child found solace within the darkness

why has this child shrouded from the light with such greatness

greatness of the stars wings that carry him away from himself as he dies.

Keep up with the moving road, keep up with your feet as they lead you way

your toes point to that one destination where you want to take us

take us to that place where you know of, oh, great one from above

take me above all, take us that are worthy of your love

take us away from that one, dark place, that place where there’s so much grey.

In this night, where the demons have prowl, where the lions have feast

can we bring our daughters men, with long pieces of shaded cloud

choose the day that comes out of the dream of which you find within the box

follow this, they say, follow this into the box as you hear the sound of locks

where will the lions feast?

...now, as you find reason within my words you may think you have me

you may think you have me upon your palm, able to use as a toy

but, let me tell you the stars have carried me away already to that place they will not be

the ones with the locks that pull us all down within their boxes

I am gone from that place with which you call life

I am gone from that thing you wish me to stay in

that hectic place of time and space

I am gone.

Have you ever wanted to know that wind that blows across the moon?
I have indeed! And I have witnessed the stars smiling lights upon the children's tears with soothing power.
You certainly have a unique way with words, Brandon.
I really like this poem. It sounds like the words of a Medicine man, explaining to a youth, the cycles, and then, He was gone.....................

There is a complex tangle of thought and emotion that you display with artistic wealth. Many a dark day has a man been found with contemplation of ones pathway in life. I have found that even the darkest days accompany a sliver of light and in that light lives hope. It sounds as if , in your poem, you have chosen to live within that light . Aware of the deceptive dark you rise above . I truly enjoyed the feel of your writting . Wonderful !!

Yes indeed, you did a great job with this. Remember the darkness is a very fertile place and the shadows are full of seeds of light. We should learn to not fear the dark places as they are great teachers of life's most meaningful lessons, and those that gather wisdom cannot avoid their paths.

As lone as there is just a shred of hope...there is light. You well describe the monsters, the darkness, the chase. But you also speak of healing, light and being-ness. The scope of your poem is quite encompassing, you have taken on a lot and done so very well. I sent you a message and mentioned one word.
