On an Argument over Zooey Deschanel and its Implications

On an Argument over Zooey Deschanel and its Implications

A Poem by -!katie!-

Long hours engrossed in conversation about nothing
leave me feeling like walks home in last night's shoes
after sleeping in a stranger's bed.
"She's like a manic pixie dream girl"
Wordless glances across sticky tables
make me fidget in my chair,
anxiously twirl my dishwater blonde hair
"She's so much more than that"

Board games, video games, mind games.
Play poker, play NHL '13, play with my heart.
Act like you like me.
Act like you don't.

Passionate arguments
are passionate for a reason.
You push my buttons
because you can,
and you enjoy it.
"You guys fight like a married couple"

Behind your piercing stare,
you are an enigma.
I mostly think that you
actually have no idea what you want.
"Are you trying to impress me with your ex boyfriend?"
No.

"I'm only like this with you"
Well that's strange,
I thought you might act like this
with the girls you date, not me.
"She's blonde"
Mazel tov.

I'm your Eponine for now,
but don't expect me to wait around,
because I'll be someone's Cosette when you figure it out.
