a poem for her

a poem for her

A Poem by Bruce
"

it's hard to say goodbye.

"

I wander through

the wilderness cold

musing the wrongs

i've created

my heart so full of love

at one point

but now is cold and dark

numb and barely beating

You thought you could change me

or rearrange me to fit your image

of the consummate lover

but we both have wills of our own

and so love is dethroned

out the door you went

and to think you were heaven sent

for 'NINE YEARS i'VE HELD YOU BACK." you say

as I close the door for good and pray

to a deaf and mute God, hoping you'd stay

I think of the good times we shared

laughs and tickles

loving and giggles

and a tear sheds

running down my cheek

southward bound

I want to get lost now

never to be found.
