Two Worlds

Two Worlds

A Poem by btang

I thought distance would be the bane of me

yet somehow -

those apricot sapphire embers emblazoned

by Colombian souls and Brazilian sunsets

reflect against your irises

before they gently lay to rest along the crevice of my body

fitting like mountains and nuestro cielo azul for you

and notre ciel bleu for me.

I feel your softness and strength with fingers interlaced

embracing closer and closer, beneath our hearts

a singular moment -

where you and I have only

one world and all we need

hidden amongst a light canopy resembling your blanket

and settling with our breath.

I feel our heartbeats harmonize

as life begins to sprout with the foliage nurturing what is to come

no matter how far we go,

what we have created today

will suffice -

Until distance is only a word for us to continue our journey.
