Apologetic

Apologetic

A Poem by Ruminating Archaeologist
"

uh...yeah. initially it's a sonnet I had to write for English class. beyond that? hm...good question...

"

What I do not get

is that "I'm sorry" means I've done some

sort of thing wrong, that I have let

something happen that was not supposed to, numb,

as if I'm not just being sympathetic.

Sometimes I think you think too much, and

that no one cares, that you're pathetic.

Aren't we all at some time when we stand

with negativity, doesn't it pull

you down with the feeling that the glass

is half empty, not half full?

Don't you think you'd rather have these feelings pass?

Can't you stand up high and tall?

Can't you stand even if you fall?
