Strangers among shadows

Strangers among shadows

A Poem by David
"

A sympathetic poem for a friend tragically lost.

"

The people in which you know so well,

Now slip into the shadows,

We trudge through black muck called life,

Looking down we can see the valley of lost souls.

Through deep depressing days ahead,

Hold heads high on  broken necks,

Made of poles pulled by the puppeteers.

A hallway with no end,

We walk down until the tiles,

Turns to wood, turns to fire,

The people we knew so well are,

Lost without confusion.

With candles held we light the way,

The sun may shine down upon the muck,

Turning it to stone,

Leaving us stuck in the moment.

We must take hammers made of tears and,

Pound it away,

It cracks and we go free,

Walking down that hallway,

To meet the strangers we knew so well,

With open arms, and lost souls.
