Painted on either side

Painted on either side

A Poem by David

Painted on either side

I am blue and black

filled with a hint of lonliness and distain

I am yellow and green

scared of what I might find

in the hell called home

I am painted on either side

color spectrums do not exist anymore

I am purple and gray now

the bruised plum

the one put towards the back for later

I am pink and orange

vibrant with no need to feel sad

for I have the sun

I am brown with clear spots

the jelly bean

reached for in the middle

I am HERE

red, white, and blue

all the colors combined and joy

simple black and white

I am the plain harsh truth

the pure sanity of the world

whatever color

whether in the back, middle, or front

people will notice

for I am the snow on your television

cut off from the rest of the world

how will you survive without me.
