Mystery Man

Mystery Man

A Poem by David

Mystery Man

Hard to understand him,

so eccentric by nature he is,

never to conform with the others.

Smile to explain himself with,

but no more than that,

a curtain,

thick and forboding,

draws before him.

In shadow he lurks,

wanting to escape,

never quite finding the words to express himself with,

or anyone to listen to silent yelps.

Fighting crime in the heart,

deep down melting away,

bit by bit it eats him up.

He stands there,

masked perfectly,

the one in the hat,

robed in the word VIBRANT.

He is crowned a winner,

none so high as he right now,

a gilded crown atop his head,

making him feel like GOD!

In a day,

the glory gone,

returning to a normal life;

Nothing to do for him now,

except to slip away while no one looks,

to disappear once more,

returning to his lair to wait,

what he is waiting for though,

is a mystery to all.
