~bone woman

~bone woman

A Poem by Katherine Wyatt

Decorated woman wearing paint on your face

hair braided interwoven with beads

warrior woman, curves and strength

lover and chalice bearer

.. Alchemy woman mixing blood and life

huntress and mother

 you are Moon

Bone woman who knows sacred syllables

dancing in the ancient ways

hair long and loose and eyes alive with power

beading, stringing

lost in song and the sound of the drum

Earth woman, connected

  woman of visions and prayer…

every step a prayer walking upon the Red Earth

Ancient woman, a bone woman weaving

bones and stones with night vision

River woman whose locks follow the bends and curves

of the bayous, wearing a feather in your hair

Water woman swimming is the soft brackish blues

with moon pulling the waters, your waters

you a vessel sentient soft,

bone woman pouring sanguine life force through your limbs

Travel your rivulets and fly with the dark heron

  bone woman

  bearing life and wisdom

connected to Earth….

Wild woman.. eating mangos in the sun

.. She..

  is soft like moon …

    butterfly of iron

This poem is a vision piece. Powerful and intoxicating. I hear the drums and see the dance...

I am the song the trees whisper in the wind. I am the strength of the mighty mountains. I am the song of the birds in the morn. I am always being reborn. I am a traveler in and out of space and time... more..
