Freedom

Freedom

A Poem by C.J.G.
"

sweet release.

"

It's been so long now, almost too long.

He's become a figment of my imagination.

A memory that I continually force to surface.

A reoccurring dream.

He's become the voice inside my head,

My conscience. My sanity.

My insanity.

He controls me, my thoughts, my heart.

The beat of my heart.

He use to make it race

With the warmth of his breathe,

the tone of his sturdy voice.

So strong that it had become my crutch.

But no longer do I need that aided balance,

No longer do I need that overbearing love infesting my soul,

Because I am free now,

And freedom is my passage to happiness.

This is awesome! :) One minor thing, I'm wondering if you meant "inside" instead of "in the" in the line "He's become the voice in the my head"
Other than that little grammar issue, this was wonderful and I really enjoyed it :)
I especially thought the part

"My conscience. My sanity.
My insanity."

was really well-written and caught my attention just like it should. Loved this! You're a great writer :)

Freedom is under-rated. When you are young. Need to travel, learn and do what you desire. Need to save money and travel. No-one need to be control. A relationship should be a team. I like the complete poem. To lose freedom is the lesson we must learn to hold on tight to dreams and hope. A very good ending to a outstanding poem.
