Ode To Oak

Ode To Oak

A Poem by Marina
"

Title says it all, man.

"
Your shadows hit my wall at night
And eats my fears away.
You make me feel so safe and right,
as you whistle sweet songs to me everyday.

You are the reason for my happiness,
Most people would laugh at me.
But I don't care, I'll scoff at them,
and sit under my favorite Oak Tree.

You shade me from the bright sunlight,
And protect me from the pouring rain.
And tell me stories of your past.
You protect me from my pains.

I love that old Oak Tree,
Sitting in my front yard.
That shades me from all thats sad.
And stands so high and brave--so tall.

The one that answers all my questions,
and let's me sleep in his arms.
A tree more clever than a person,
Most beautiful of all.

Your shadows hit my wall at night,
As you whistle the sweetest goodnights,
and provide for me a comfortable seat,
As you show me all thats right.

I love how you embrace the sun, the fog, the rain, and sleet.
and you keep the bad away,
The most perfectly shaped, it amazes me.

I love how your higher than the sky,
And brighter than the sun.
So nice, so strong, so beautiful.
My favorite old Oak Tree.

Author's Note

Marina
Improv.

This one, I think, is the most simplist of all the poems i've written.
=D
I wrote an ode about crayons, but I can't find it.
Soon as I do, I'll post.

Loveyou!

The oak tree, offered to us, in a manner, in which it is all it could ever dream to be. The work flows, attributing those human attributes that people so often try to attribute to things - not human. Yet it flows, not a thought misplaced leaving an image that would be hard pressed to be erased. A good friend, a stalwart defender, that confidant, that companion, this tree - you have shared quite well what this old oak tree means to you... a very fitting ode. Well done.

Your reflexivity is governed by the principle of qualitative identity, you make such a tree the hero of your poem, this is wonderful, I enjoyed the flow of your stanzas, thank you for entering my contest.

Know That I Too
We are never alone (a poem for mental health month)
If you're as young as your profile says, and your writing continues to stay diverse. That is, not all love/boy/smitten or dark/introspective etc. You may go a long way in literary circles. I wish I had started years ago. This was a very good thoughtful and bright poem. It shows your real talent. Nice Job. Thanks.

This is so sweet, for I know that Old Oak is blushing right now. He feels the warmth from your words and embrace from you love...although he most likely tell you not sit under him in the rain..smile. I love the flow, although you seem to change your sequence mid way, but it didn't take away from the poem, it still captured my heart, shook me lke a gentle breeze...beautiful write...

I absolutely Love it!
(I tried to write an ode to a bowl once :3)
I could see the shadows,
and hear the wind,
all of it seemed to be swirling around me in one giant ball of amazingness!
I can't wait to read more of your writing!
