Strawberries and Chocolate

Strawberries and Chocolate

A Poem by Caitlin Lea
"

For my friend, John.

"
I.
The sum
Is
Greater
Than the

Parts.
Look
At me.
From a

Distance-
Bright
Brilliant.
In your

Hand,
Bumpy.
I intrigue-
Entice-

A fruit
Softly
Bidding
Taste me.

Surprise!
I am
Sharper
Than you

Imagined.

II.
Mystery
Always
Draws us.
Darkness

Is fear-
Delicious,
Delightful
Fright.

Wrap me
In your
Depth-
I surrender

My cool
Exterior
To your
Fever.

Ah!
The sweetness-
Smooth
Caressing

Perfection.

the luring, then the surrender...

this has great bounce to it...i like poetry with very short lines like this, and that hesitation between words when the lines end
and then pick up...

how much opposites attract...and seem to fit together so well...the cool to the fever.

nice work...

i am going to look at more of your page.
