Cold, White Door

Cold, White Door

A Poem by Caitlin Lea
"

...A dream-- a destiny....

"

I stand against

A cold,

White door,

Fulfilling

A dream"

 A destiny

Of sorts.

I ask

The man

I call “lover”,

Who are you

Outside

This door?

Will you

Stay

Or will

The angry

Sunrise goddess

Carry you

Away?

Good morning,

I say,

And you are

The same,

But not

The same.

You smile.

A secret

Hides in

The corner.

I trick

Myself

Into thinking

There was

No door.

There is

No night.

The goddess

Is mightier

Than I.

A trick,

An illusion"

 A risk

An allusion.

The sun rises

Every morning,

But I only

Live

At night.
