Caring Calypso

Visit with the Voodoo Vampire

The Priest of Paper and Pen

Hear my gothic song my dear

The darkness at the heart of men

My identity I cannot reveal

I will forever conceal how I feel

I will carry the weight of our fate

Male or Female I was your mate

What angry God of the Sea

Washed you to my shore to me

We came together to write

A modern myth in a new light

Oh Ogygia the isle of Academia

These halls full of emotional pit falls

You yearned so much to learn

That you did not mind the slow burn

Your husband Your Penelope

He patiently awaited and anticipated

While to me you paid your due

Together we contemplated and created

You bore us a literary love child

In that we will forever be bound

Our words our immortal beloved

Our connection will always be found

Many would say it was not an actual affair

Although, it was not that I didn’t care

It was that Hermes came to call

And you had to leave that Graduate Fall

Here at the World’s End I see

I kept you prisoner at bay

Because I myself was not free

What more is there to say
