Hurricane Heartbreak

Hurricane Heartbreak

A Poem by Cari Lynn Vaughn
"

Heart break can feel like a natural disaster

"

Hurricane Heartbreak

Tidal waves wash over and over me

My ache spill all over     and out

My banks    my wall   my levees

I am broken and battered about

This damage is a natural disaster

An absolute emotional emergency

Help is able to come any faster

Stuck so helplessly and hopelessly

Tears are now terrible torrents

Anger drives me like the wind

The howling powerful weather

My heartbreak     now warrants

Could it be some pathetic fallacy

Or am I just        pathetic enough

To portray myself having it so rough

For feeling betrayed so intensely
