The Other Side Of Tenderness (Part Two)

The Other Side Of Tenderness (Part Two)

A Poem by Carlton Carr

"
The other side of tenderness
is a shallow pool
of cruel hard longing
strong bonds that bind me to you
locks without keys

The other side of tenderness
is a silent scream
a dream that splits the fusion
of our bonding
an arid planet without seas

The other side of tenderness
is having no desires
no hunger no needs
burning fires without flames
games that have no winning
death without disease

This poem is too well portraying what tenderness actually is if you have the stomach to admit it. Excellent last lines in each stanza and very well penned in general. Loved it. Makes me remember - passion over tenderness, because it hurts worse but heals faster. Thanks for sharing.
