This is another great favourite for me! Your words have for me, worked uniquely here, to personify the candle in such an amazing way that I identify with it like someone I love. Some people too, provide such solace, company, amusement, assurance and light. Kudos to you Chris!

Wow, beautifully written, Chris. You write some of the best poems I've ever seen; thank you for blessing this website with your talent. As always, your imagery is marvelous; you have a beauty to your style that I wish I could even come close to matching. I really enjoy reading your descriptions; they paint such a deep, vivid picture, and I am often pulled into the scenes you create.
Keep up the great work!

This is lovely, Christine. I admire the way you finish your pieces. Leaves me all warm inside.

BEST POEM I've read all week! I love this. This is a beautiful blend of warm friendship, a beacon of spiritual light, & the basic actual candle at hand. Love your rhyme & rthym as always. Love the way you loosely blend the various aspects of real details & symbolic nuance to create a fulsome & inspiring message (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you kindly Margie. Pleased you enjoyed the read. What an awesome review.
'When all around is darkness, - the flicker of this friend, - eliminates the brooding thoughts - that randomly descend.'
A chink of light in any form is precious.. and, the flicker of a candle is - for me, a reminder that one's never alone, that the candle's flicker is something unseen in- and ex- haling. Some might find that weird, but.. tis what we see in life that matters... in any and all form.s You write beautifully and certainly inspire folk to think and think again.

There's an awful lot to be said about light in a dark place, even if it's minute. Probably ingrained in us from eons ago when fire provided warmth and safety, we can't help but feel it's comforting effects to this day. Add "curing the blues" to it's positive qualities.

I have been a convert to aromatherapy ever since I got sent on a stress managent course. Thinking it another waste of time and money, I was so relaxed I fell asleep before lunch.
My favourite way to stimulate the senses is using a certain fabric spray (i'd tell you the name, but im not paid to advertise) which is cinammon and apple scented...which is ironic, considering its quite christmassy smelling, amd I cant stand xmas :)

You reckon that's good too? I wouldn't have thought you an aromatherapy geezer. You've just elevated yourself, but as you don:t like Christmas, you're back where you started. What!! You don't like Christmas? Bet you celebrate New Year though :)
there is such a thing called a friend whom you can depend on especially the times when you feel you are all alone and thanks for being one chris

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
