Chris, this is such a fine write, short but wildy accurate, such clever wording.
However, much the same as I saw other day: woman sitting on quite a crowded beach throwing up bread to hordes of gulls who were diving and screaming all around her whilst adults and children nearby were ducking, petrified. Took two couples to dare the birds and have her stop. Friends/I wondered if she was 'poorly, lonely' but whatever -was so foolish, dangerous.

I miss my sorties to Falmouth and Cornwall. Although we now have inland gulls they are silent and only the swooping. noisy type typify the coast. You once more convey this in a lovely senyru.

Even in the middle of the night they are in full flight. Especially if a fishing trawler returns back to base. West Coast is wonderful.
