The Storm

The Storm

A Poem by Joyce Marie

I remember lightning

across the pitch black sky

and I remember passion

The wild look within your eyes

I remember the way you loved me

and praying for sweet release

how you put noone else above me

You said I was the missing peice

I remember thunder

The rapid beat of my own heart

and the tidal wave of desire

as I slowly fell apart

I remember sanctuary

shelter  from the storm

and the warmth within your touch

I was safe there in your arms

I remember summer days of wonder

and summer nights so long ago

Those times are long over

and you're never coming home

But when I see a distant storm

and lightning scatter across the sky

I remember a perfect love

and a boy with wildness in his eyes
