My Mom Took Me to the Airport - a poem

Simply a poem about a story I previously posted here.

My mom took me to the airport

I was only five

She didn’t speak a single word

For the entire ride

My mom took me to the airport

We walked for quite some time

She didn’t have a suitcase

Mom said it was fine

My mom took me to the airport

And told me to stay there

That she’d be back any moment

And to not go anywhere

My mom took me to the airport

I waited until noon

And then I waited 10 more hours

How much time is “soon”?

My mom took me to the airport

And left me there alone

I’d never felt so lonely

Knowing I wasn’t going home
