In the meadows of her mind I dwell

And in her heart is a wishing well...

Breathing basil in whisper’s wind

Grayed raindrops dance golden in...

Strong coffee-scented sapphire sky

A thousand painted butterflies...

Small seeds now gifts of rainbow’s grace

Caress the smile on her sun-blushed face...

There are rooms in her wilding eyes

Within shadowed opaque butterflies...

Wings like stained glass take flight

Streaming sunlit shafts of light...

On a penstemon perfect summer day

We’ll dance and sing in flutter play...

Moon said it right, the meter and the softness of your word selections cause it to read like a fluttering flight. I had a warm sense as I scanned the lines at first and then I got to the mention of the butterfly with an epiphany, stopped reading and restarted with that imagery. It was so clear you had the butterflies in mind from the beginning (then I saw the note)! Wonderful as always, it reads very well aloud Sir Craig, if you haven't tried it off the page and onto the tongue yet!

' On a penstemon perfect summer day ~ We’ll dance and sing in flutter play...' those lines positively sing!

You've created such an idyllic procession of scenes - they're whimsical, gentle and very lovable, ' Strong coffee-scented sapphire sky' - that would be the perfect sky for me! This is a perfect addition to your Alice associated poems.

This gives me a idea I once ran down a hill with a cabin of boys at camp. Bracing on trees as we went to slow us down,in one tree was a nest. A hornets nest. Oh mad mad
the first boy got free the rest of us....ouch ouch we couldn't get under Turtle falls fast enough.Never fluttered with butterflies until today ,as usual this is great.

Floating like a butterfly here you fill the senses with dacing words and smells of basil delights. Lovely write.

Gorgeous, to say the least. Everything has the perfect flow along with the intense imagery every step of the way!
So romantic and free. Lovely write!

Beautiful. I just woke up and am on my way to work and reading this was the best way to start my morning.

As I read I imagined strolling through a butterfly strew forest. With exotic playful flowers, and sunny rays of light poking through the threes. All the while the breeze holds the scent of magic and adventure.

You are wonderful with words, and I envy it. XD Never stop writing, I think the world will be a little less full if you do.

So beautiful a write! That happened to me once. I had just gone through a break-up and was sitting on a log when all these yellow butterflies seemed to emerge from nowhere and made this funnel right in front of me.....I never saw anything like it, there were so many of them, and it seemed like a miracle that I was right there to witness this phenomenon....I never forgot it, it was such a rare gift.
