We dance in ruby-rose rooms

We dance in ruby-rose rooms

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

MY LIFE IN FAIRYTALES...

"

A tapestry of tailors sit time-woven

In topaz tents under a tamarind tree

As our dreams of soft drifting daylight

Sway in diamond dewdrops of dawn

In an enchanted palace with my princess

While I uncover her devouring delight

Opal opulence alive on our orchid ottoman

All within her eyes are ocean-sweet orchards

And we dance in ruby-rose rooms

Ever she my Eve in the entrance

To emotion’s Earth in ethereal evanescence

Looking-glass adventures in her amethyst affection

An aroma of lush apples from Wonderland

While ecstasy’s echoes enchant my

Evergreen reflections of her evening eyes

Magnolia castles of marble magnificence

Shelter us as we ride our misted memories and

Sail over sapphire sands on sage seahorses.

"In an enchanted palace with my princess

I would shrink myself if there was a possibility that I could jump into your mind and just swim around in a pool of your words.

In love with language and in love with a lovely lady, the poem is an extravagant celebration of the state of love. It reads like a passage from the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam translated by the Victorian poet Algernon Charles Swinburne. Wonderful work.

Lots of rich imagery in this poem.
I think that 'Looking-glass adventures in her amethyst affection...' is my favourite line. The inner rhyme and alliteration create a wonderful pace.
Lovely poem :)
